Theresa P Poole

Theresa Poole was born was born in Brooklyn on March 5, 1911. She and her twin sister Loratta were the eleventh and twelfth children of William Poole and Mary Head.

She took vows as a Sister of St. Joseph, on August 2, 1931, in Brentwood, Long Island, taking the religious name Sister St. Raphael. One of her sisters, Catherine (Sister Rosarita), had previously joined the order and another sister, Margaret (Sister Margaret Maureen), would take her vows a year later.

Theresa worked as an elementary school teacher throughout her career.

She died on January 17, 1998 in and is buried in Brentwood beside her two sisters.
