Assignment 2 - January 20

For your second assignment, you will perform some exercises in customizing the Windows 95 system. You may do these at home using Windows 95, 98 or NT. You may also do them in the lab but some of them can only be done tonight. Normally, you are not able to make these changes in Shoreline's labs.

All the exercises are from Tutorial (chapter) 4 in Microsoft Windows 95 Comprehensive.

Assignment

Do Tutorial Assignments 6, 7 and 8 located on pages 142 to 144.

Of course, for each of the exercises, you must turn in evidence that you did it. You will do this as follows.

1. Send me an email with the subject "Windows Assignment 2"
2. In the body of the email, give me the answers for exercise 7. This should include telling me where you did the exercise and on what operating system. Then list all of the answers to parts a through g like this:
   1. The monitor type is.........
   2. etc...
3. For exercises 6 and 7, save the images of your screen as a file of type bmp. Attach the two files to the email. Do not use more than 256 colors in saving the file as it will get big rather quickly. If you like, you may combine these two exercises to show both the background text and the shortcuts on the same screen.

We will briefly mention in class how you can create files from your screen. If you have difficulty , you can look ahead to intermediate tutorial 2.
